I was thinking at this point I would have gotten used to the extreme heat of the region but NO, not me. I was the girl who was turning into a puddle of sweat by standing still at 6am. What worried me was on this particular day, we were about to set off on our longest walk yet. The walk was at Kings Canyon with the first bit called Heart Attack Hill (a steep incline that I can only describe as 3 stages of hell).
Despite having second thoughts as I stood at the bottom of Heart Attack Hill, I lugged my 3 litres of water with me and set off. Sometimes I can be such as idiot as I can only imagine this making a crackhead on a treadmill happy. Unfortunately, it was too late to turn around and I was to chicken to tell everyone that I was ready to throw in the towel so I keep trekking forward as the sweat started pouring off of me as though I was stuck in a torrential downpour.
All I have to say about this experience is despite the fact that I almost drowned in my own sweat, it was well worth it. The sun may have roasted my skin and the 3 litres of water magically disappeared but the views were amazing and well worth the hardship that I faced.
