At the Crack of Dawn

The sun rising over Ayers Rock

I’m not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination.  Four in the morning is the time that one should be coming home after a good night out.  For me, however, this was not the case.  The alarm went off and we were quickly greeted with a sharp knock on the door to let us know that it was time to get a move on.

The reason for waking up at this ungodly hour was to catch the sunrise at Uluru.  I had visions of magnificent hues of oranges and reds floating in my head.  The idea was totally off the mark but it was still worth the early wake up call.  Something that is a definite must if you’re ever going to visit Uluru as it’s beautiful to watch the sun come over the rock.
