After much anticipation, Rugby World Cup kicked off yesterday. I could have marched my way to Eden Park for the Opening Ceremony where the All Blacks faced off against Tonga but NOPE that’s not me. I bee-lined to a fabulous house party that not only overlooked all the festivities in the Viaduct but was also the best viewing spot for the symphony of fire heading my way.
Yes, fireworks!!! How I love them and the ones from last night exceeded my expectations. To be brutally honest, I didn’t have high hopes when I heard that fireworks were going to be part of opening night. What I FOOL I was. There were bursts of light in the night sky coming from every angle. If I glanced at the display coming off the water then out of the corner of my eye I could see that the city was being lit up as well. I stood there on the balcony with the rest of the guests in total satisfaction with the display that was put on. If this is signs of things to come then I can honestly say that I’m quite excited with what the next 6 weeks has in store.
